Photo of The Day
This blog has been SO totally neglected, and so has pics of the fam. So I'm going to TRY....that's right, no commitment, just a try...to post a POTD here (that's photographer's code for photo of the day). Hopefully it will get me into the habit of unzipping that big ole bag and draggin out that sweet camera and snapping some pics of MY fam each day! So check back every so often. They won't be portraits, or posed, shoot the house won't be clean and the kids won't be of their jams most of the time (lol). But hopefully the pics will be here:) Enjoy the chaos at the Ross house:)

POTD
I took this pic on Nov 4th, the first day that Mikala had the flu. She was laid out a few hours later with a fever of over 104 that lasted 6 days. She was one sick girl. After being quarantined at home for 9 days, she's among the living again:) We are so thankful for all of your prayers, and happy that none of the rest of us got it!

Changing of the seasons
Changing of the seasons means changing of the wardrobes. Today we drug in the bins of winter clothes for the kids to try on so we can determine whether or not we need to shop before the cold hits. The kids hate trying on the clothes, and I dread doing the mass of laundry. But I'm thankful that we live in a country where we are blessed with SO much so, I won't whine about it outloud:)

August Mania
It's going to be a crazy month! Kylie, Robert and I are going to a 4 day photography workshop this weekend. 7 days later we're camping for 1 week at Turkey Run. 5 days later we leave for another Army reintegration program in Chicago (3 days long). Throw in 9 photo shoots, and the start to our 2009-2010 homeschool year and you have my August! I'm going to take a deep breath and try to stay organized and focused so that I don't get overwhelmed with it all. I CAN do this! Really....I can! I think!

POTD
Robert put flower boxes up outside the living room and our bedroom windows. There's something special inside the flower box outside our bedroom window...look closely...closer..
...a wren built her nest there! Her 5 eggs hatched this week. Here the male is bringing the female food.

She wakes the cats up at 6:00am every morning with her song. It drives the cats bonkers...they wake me up by jumping into the mini blinds trying to get to her. It's not exactly as jovial as Mary Poppins makes it out to be:P I hope to get good shots of the babies as they get a little bigger.

POTD
Robert went to take a shower more than 30 minutes ago...but never made it past the family room. He was stopped by the power of the Wii.

POTD
I walked into the yard to stretch my back tonight, and Robert asked if I had looked at the flowers that Brennan planted lately (the kids get to pick out a 4-pack of annuals to plant every year).

July 4th
We are so blessed to have such a HUGE awesome amazing close family! We love, cry, fight, talk, laugh and most importantly EAT together! I wish I had taken a headcount to see how many peeps were at my Aunt Sherry's for our cookout. A great time was had by all. We had a moonwalk, slip and slide, corn hole games, the kids went to the Pizza shop and got to make their own pizzas...and we got to spend time with Tommy, Sharon, and Cody from S.C (and Sarah and Kenley earlier in the week). Here is Brennan on the slip and slide!

I don't have a lens that looks around the corner, so you can't see what's in front of the car or the house! Today was "clean the garage day".
My mom took the girls to see the Hannah Montana movie, so Landin and Riley came over to hang with Brennan. We were having a "no vid games-no computer games" day so they played outside and had a drawing contest:)

Don't blink
This is the frame around Brennan's door. They grow SO fast! I am fighting all outside forces trying to preserve our family time. Family dinners with no tv, walks together, mini vacations...just slowing down and spending as much time TALKING with the kids as we can. This time is so precious, and I can feel it just flying out from under me!

We are picking him up from the airport today. I can't believe it's been 368 days! I can't wait to wrap my arms around him!

2 steps forward...
...3 steps back. I overdid it this week, and woke up with overwhelming muscle spasms in my lower back. Went to the ER and they gave me valium, and a shot of torridol and dilauded. Now I'm laid up for a couple of days, and no lifting over 20lbs until I'm healed. UGH! I was trying to push it to get things done before Robert comes home, now I'm at a standstill. I should have paced my self. DOH!

Robert is in the desert, I'm in a flood. (Hover mouse for description)
We had a pipe burst under the dishwasher on Jan 16th. Flooded the bathroom, hallway, fam room, kitchen, utility room and living room. Still waiting on the insurance adjustor to come. Sigh. I just need it finished before Robert comes home!

We got a shed;)
Unfortunately it flew in from my neighbors yard around 4:30am this morning. Kylie took this pic through her bedroom window before we left for church. Sounded like metal trash cans banging on the ground...quite the rude awakening! All of the things that were in the shed stayed put in her yard. lol. We were lucky that our tree kept it from slamming into our garage.
